Berkeley PR nominated for 3 EMEA Gold SABRE awards

3 May

EMEA SABRE awards

I love Barcelona. It is one of my favourite cities in the world. Climate, food, architecture, atmosphere, the place has a great vibe (and their football team isn’t too bad either). But I haven’t been for a few years now. I used to be a regular visitor for Mobile World Congress but in recent years colleagues have attended instead.

All of that is about to change though. I am very proud to say that Berkeley PR has been nominated for not one but three prestigious EMEA Gold SABRE awards and the ceremony is being held at the end of the month in Barcelona. I literally can’t wait. My colleagues and I have already booked our flights, hotels and tickets for the event and are now eagerly counting down the days to the conference.

We have been nominated for our international PR work in the Pan-European Programme category for our high profile PR campaign ‘What Kind of criminal are you?’ which pushed client Iron Mountain into the headlines across Europe.
Our consumer team has been recognised in the Retailers category for its work with, Lakeside Shopping Centre and our third nomination is for the Technology: Software & Services category, as a result of our  work with Kaspersky Lab to communicate the discovery of the world’s most complex cyber-weapon to date, Flame.

To say that I am proud of my team would be an understatement. Obviously I would love to win them but to have been recognised by those fine fellows at the Holmes Report is a massive honour. We have been nominated alongside some of the largest agencies in the world and I am thrilled that Berkeley PR is being mentioned in the same breath as some companies I have long admired.

Anyway, wish us luck and if you are attending the Cupola las Arenas in Barcelona on May 30th, please don’t hesitate to pop over and say hello to the Berkeley PR team. We’re a friendly bunch…..especially when we have a glass of bubbly in our hands!

Come Camping with Berkeley PR

Berkeley PR website

An image that Berkeley PR has used for many years has been a black and white cow with orange udders and the strap line – stand out from the herd. It was effective and had a marmite effect with prospects which was the point. It caught attention and was never ignored.

Daisy was old Berkeley and New Berkeley PR has a different strap line (storytelling in a digital age) so unfortunately it was time to lead her off in the direction of McDonalds. This has also coincided with the launch of Berkeley PR’s new website.

If you haven’t seen it, please take a look. I would love to hear any feedback. We have freshened things up, simplified the navigation and led with what we do best – storytelling.

I particularly like our home page as there is a button that you simply won’t see on another PR agency website in the world. I guarantee it.

Sitting proudly alongside three other buttons pointing you in the direction of insight into our digital and technology PR offering, consumer PR offering, International PR offering is a button simply called Come Camping. I love this button. It sums Berkeley PR up brilliantly.

We sat thinking about what we wanted to shout about most on the front page. A lot of our competitors talk about the PR services and industries they are in, or blither on about the digital services they offer when a two minute search can show you that they haven’t a clue. We recognised that there is one thing that makes Berkeley PR stand out from other PR agencies and that is our culture.

We are very proud of our this. It is what makes us special. It is why our clients love us and why they stay with us.

So if you want to know more about Berkeley PR and what makes us special read this one page. The rest is good also, but click on the Come Camping button and let me know what you think either by email or by posting a comment on this PR blog.

Want a job in PR?

25 Apr

At Berkeley PR we are recruiting again for a variety of different roles for our technology and consumer PR divisions. The culture at Berkeley PR is relaxed and fun, with a work-life balance you don’t often find inside the M25. Outside work, we enjoy regular socials and sporting events together – so whether you have a penchant for mojitos or footie, you’ll find yourself among kindred spirits.

Below are the roles we are looking to fill:

Senior PR account executive – We are looking for an experienced PR professional with strong media relationships, who can demonstrate a mature approach and experience across a range of tasks and industry sectors . Working collaboratively within a team, the role requires the ability to think professionally and proactively. A senior account executive is often the main point of contact for clients and must show awareness of current activity across the account, future planning, account fee structures, time allocation and be able to identify opportunities for additional projects. At least one year’s experience in a similar role is required. In return you’ll receive a competitive salary, the chance to work with some big name clients and the opportunity to become part of a friendly, ambitious and creative team of PR professionals. Further to this, we also offer participation in our profit-share bonus scheme.

PR Account executive – a confident and experienced account executive is sought to join our growing team. The role would suit a candidate with experience in an agency environment who is eager to further their career in a bright and ambitious agency. One year’s experience in a similar role is essential, although candidates without agency experience will also be considered. In return you’ll receive a competitive salary, the chance to work with some big name clients and the opportunity to become part of a friendly, ambitious and creative team of PR professionals. Further to this, we also offer participation in our profit-share bonus scheme.

Trainee PR account executive – a bright and enthusiastic individual is sought for the role of trainee account executive. A creative or communications based degree is desired but not essential. Far more important is as a desire to learn, strong organisational skills and a will to succeed. In return you’ll receive comprehensive training, on-the-job support and all the tools you’ll need to become a well-rounded PR professional. In addition to this we offer a competitive salary and participation in our profit-share bonus scheme.

If any of the above roles are of interest why not drop us a line – we would love to hear from you.
